僕たちはオーギーくんを室内飼いにするべくプロジェクトを立ち上げた。だけど、いつもママの邪魔が入る。 これはこの半年間のオーギーくんに関する主な出来事だよ。
２０１３年９月２９日（日）
ママがオーギーくんに初めて話しかけた。「こんにちは」って一言だけど、これは超常現象だ。だって、ママはオーギーくんを嫌いで絶対に話かけることなかったから。あんまりビックリして僕はその光景を凝視していたらしい。ママと目が合った。“やばい”と思ったが、時すでに遅し。ママがすっとんできた。
「まあー！そんなにそんなにお目目クリクリして！焼きもちやいているの？ジュノくん可愛すぎる～♪」
と言って、せっかくキレイにお手入れしたばかりの僕の体毛をママの手でグチャグチャにしやがった。僕が常にグルーミングしているのはママのせいだってことにいい加減気づいてほしい。
２０１３年１０月１５日（火）
ママとオーギーくんが室内で初対面。ママが帰宅して室内にいるオーギーくんを見るなり「汚い！」と大声をあげた。それにビックリしたオーギーくんはすぐに玄関を飛び出して逃げてしまった。パパがママに怒った。
「君はプロジェクトの邪魔をした。オーギーを室内で一緒に生活させる。これが俺たちのプロジェクトじゃないのか？キミも同意しただろ？」
ママは「わかってるけど…。でもあの子汚いし、ジュノが心配だわ」と呟く。
プロジェクトには同意したものの、ママの心情が追いつかない様子。
２０１３年１１月１日（金）
ママがオーギーくんのお尻をきれいに拭いた。オーギーくんは嫌な様子だったけどママはササッって済ませたので、オーギーくんは抵抗する術もなかった。
僕はといえば、とりあえず、オーギーくんが出入りした場所は全部チェック。オーギーくんが出た後に、僕も入ってくつろいでみる。
僕がチビのとき以来入っていなかったタワー下の小さな洞穴はオーギーくんお気に入りらしい。
当然そこも入ってチェックだ。パパが「ジュノ、そこで何してる？」と訊いた。
「オーギーくんのボスとしての職務だよ」と僕は答えると、パパは「鳥の巣箱に無理やり詰め込まれたイタチにしか見えんぞ。」と言った。
ママが「ジュノくんホント可愛すぎる！」とキャッキャ言っていた。
確かに、チビのとき以来入っていなかった洞穴は、今の僕にはきゅうくつすぎる。なので洞穴の仕事は今日で終了。
２０１３年１１月２日（土）
今日もオーギーくんの出入りしたところをことごとくチェック。今日はオーギーくんお気に入りの小さな洞穴の前にピッタリくっついてオーギーくんを入れさせないようにした。ちょっぴり意地悪だけどね、こんな試練もときには必要さ、オーギーくん。僕はボスだからね。部下を訓練しないとね。
パパが僕のウェットフードをオーギーくんに食べさたことをママが激怒していた。
２０１３年１１月３日（日）
オーギーくんのお尻がチョー臭かった！クンクンと嗅いだら、思わず"えっ！"ってビックリ顔で頭を後ろに退けてしまったじゃないか。とにかくクサイ！！いくら仲良しでもこの臭さは頂けないなぁ、オーギーくん。
昨日、ママがオーギーくんを頭からお尻まで念入りに拭いたからか、オーギーくんはママを避ける。今日もママがオーギーくんの臭いに耐え兼ねてお尻拭いたら、オーギーくんすごくイヤがって抵抗していた。
２０１３年１１月６日（水）
ママが、僕のウェットフードパウチのいくつかをオーギーくん分としてパパに売った。これからはオーギーくんのフード、医療代などオーギーくんに関わるすべての費用がパパのおこづかいから差し引かれることになった。それでもまだママはパパに
「ジュノのフードをオーギーに食べさせないでよ！」
と念をおしていた。そしたら、パパは
「うるさい！何度も同じこと言うな！」
と激怒した。ママも負けちゃいない。
「あなたが無責任に汚い野良猫を手なずけるからいけないんでしょ！あなたに最低限の責任は取ってもらわないとね！」
２０１３年１１月８日（金）
また、ママとパパがオーギーくんのことでケンカ。
ママいわく、パパはオーギーくんの魂に憑りつかれているらしい。
２０１３年１１月１０日（日）
夜、パパがオーギーくんをパパの布団へ連れ込もうとした。
ママが「うわっ！マジでかんべんして欲しいんだけど！めっちゃ憂鬱になってきた･･･」とこぼした。
さすがのパパもオーギーくんの異臭と床を一緒にするのが難しかったのか、今夜はオーギーくんがパパと一緒に寝ることはなかった。
２０１３年１１月２５日（月）
数日前、ママがオーギーくんを散々悪く言ったので、傷ついたオーギーくんはここのところウチに来ていない。
ママが言うには、オーギーくんの臭さは清潔にして完全室内飼いにしてしまえば解決することだけど、ママにとって我慢しがたいことは、オーギーくんが僕の食べ物や僕の場所を盗ることだそうだ。
「オーギーくんは盗っているんじゃないの。僕がそうさせてあげているの。僕が嫌なときはオーギーくんに僕のごはんや場所を譲ったりしてないよ。心配無用だよママ。僕はいいんだよ」
と僕がそう言っても、ママは「私はよくないの！」と頑として譲らない。
僕の食べ物や僕の場所は一体誰のものだよ。
２０１３年１２月４日（水）
オーギーくん、「ブシュッ！ブシュッ！」って風邪ひいたようす。パパが心配している。ママも一見心配している様子で「大丈夫？」とオーギーくんに話かけていた。だけど、その直後に「ジュノくんに移さないでね」と言っていた。
２０１３年１２月８日（日）
オーギーくんがシャムとケンカした！ちょうど僕の散歩の途中でいつものようにオーギーくんも現れて、そこにシャムもどこからかやってきたんだ。そして、僕の目の前で取っ組み合いのケンカだよ！僕も参戦したかったけど、何しろリーシュ付でしょ。見物客にしかなれないから、ギャーギャーと野次とばしたよ。その声がどうやら尋常じゃないサウンドだったらしく、ケンカの当事者たちよりも大音量だったらしい。近所の人たちゴメンナサイ。
２０１４年１月８日（水）
夜中、オーギーくんのハードなケンカ音が聞えた。僕は心配と興奮で室内をウロウロした。最初はアパートの上階の方から聞こえて、そのあとその音は下の駐車場に移動した。音がおさまっても僕は玄関に座って様子を伺っていた。ママが様子を見ようと玄関を開けたらオーギーくんがタタタと走って玄関に入ってきた。ママが扉を開けるときは、いつもオーギーくんは家に入るのをためらうのに、こんなのは珍しい。よっぽどケンカの相手が怖かったのかな。
２０１４年１月１８日（土）
オーギーくんを今夜から完全に家の中で生活させることになった。オーギーくん用のトイレも僕のトイレの隣に設置された。しばらく遊んだ後、オーギーくんが「おしっこ行きたいから外に出たい」と言ったから、僕が「お外に行かなくてもいいんだよ。トイレはここだよ。こうやってするんだよ」って教えてあげた。だけどね、オーギーくんは「そこは俺のトイレじゃない。外に行きたい」って言っておしっこを我慢するんだ。困ったな･･･。おしっこ我慢するなんて辛いだろうな。
２０１４年１月１９日（日）
朝、オーギーくんのお腹がプルプル震え出してきた。オーギーくんはおしっこに行きたくてたまらなくって、我慢も限界のようだった。「おしっこ行きたい！外に出たい！」と何度も何度も訴えるから、その度に僕はトイレを教えるけど、オーギーくんは頑なに「そこじゃない！外に出たいだけなのに、何で行けないんだ！」と言い張る。
見かねて、ママが僕のリーシュをオーギーくんにつけて外に連れ出した。
今度は僕が、「それ僕のリーシュ！僕もお外行きたい！」って叫んだ。だけど、そう長くしない内にママが戻ってきた。でも、オーギーくんはいない。
「オーギーくんは?」僕は尋ねた。
「オーギーくんはね、茂みでおしっこしたら、そこから他人の敷地に入って行ったのよ。リーシュを引っ張ったけどオーギーくん思ったより力強いから、思わずリーシュから手を放しちゃった。」とママは答える。
「でも今、手にリーシュ持ってるじゃない」と僕が言うと、ママが説明しだした。
「そうよ。ジュノくんのリーシュだけはどうしても取返したかったしね、それにリーシュ付でウロウロするのもオーギーくんにとって危険でしょ。勇気を出して、その誰かの敷地に入ってなんとかオーギーくんを捕まえてリーシュだけ取り外したの。オーギーくんはそのままどこかへ行ったわ。」
そしてママはさらに続ける。
「野良猫を完全室内飼いの猫なんて所詮無理なのよ。なんだかこのプロジェクトがバカバカしくなってきた」
オーギーくん完全室内生活計画は失敗した。当分様子を見ることになった。
２０１４年２月６日（木）
オーギーくんが今日は１回しか家に来なかった。最近はママもオーギーくんに対して少しだけフレンドリーになってきた。今まで近隣の猫達にビクビクしていたオーギーくんではなく、ごはんもいっぱい食べてだんだん強くなって自信に満ち溢れていく様を見て、ママは本当にオーギーくんを完全室内飼いの猫にしていいものなのかと思案する。
２０１４年２月１３日（木）
オーギーくん、風邪をひいたようす。青ばなを垂らしている。珍しく家の中にいる時間が長かった。ママがしきりに「ジュノくん、オーギー君に近寄っちゃダメ！」と言って僕とオーギーくんがくっつかないように見張っていた。
２０１４年２月２３日（日）
オーギーくんがようやく今日初めて僕のトイレを使ったよ。いや、僕のトイレではなくオーギーくんのトイレなんだけどね、オーギーくんはずっと使わなかったから僕のもう一つのトイレみたくなっていたんだよね。
オーギーくん、ウンチは我慢できなかったのだろう。オーギーくんがトイレの砂をガサガサし出した。その音を聞くやいなや、僕はすぐ飛んで行ってオーギーくんがウンチしているのを傍で一部始終監督した。ウンチしたあとオーギーくんは砂をかぶせたけど、完璧じゃなかったから僕が砂をウンチが隠れるまでかけてあげたよ。
もうこれで、オーギーくんが僕たちと一緒に生活する日は近いかな。

Mommy talked to Augi for the first time. She gave to him only one word, "Hello", but this is a paranormal activity, because she doesn't like him and has never talked to him. I was tremendously surprised and apparently gazed at the scene. My gaze met mommy's. I thought "uh-oh...", but it was too late. Mommy came rushing over to me,
"How big and round your eyes are! Are you jealous of him? You are TOO ADORABLE!!"
Then she messed up my neat hair. Please be aware of why I am always grooming is because of you, Mommy!

Augi had a first encounter with my mommy inside our room. But mommy screamed, "Disgusting!" on seeing Augi when she came back home. Being frightened by her voice, Augi jumped out of the entrance and ran away. My dad got angry at mommy,
"You've got in the way of our project! We will make Augi live inside our home. This is the project, isn’t it? You agreed with it, didn’t you?"
Mommy mumbled,
"I know..., but he is dirt. I care about Juno."
Mommy consented to the project, but her mind apparently cannot catch up with it.

Mommy wiped Augi’s butt clean. Augi didn’t like it, but since it was done quickly, he had no means of kicking against her.
As for me, tentatively I checked every place where Augi entered and left. After he left, I entered there and tried to relax. Augi seems to be fond of the small cave under the cat tower that I haven't used since my kittenhood. Of course I entered there to check.
Daddy asked me, "Juno, what are you doing there?"
"I’m doing my duty as Augi’s boss," I replied.
"You just look like a weasel squeezed in a bird nest," daddy said.
Mommy made a cheerful sound, "Oh my Juno dear, you are REALLY CUTE!!"
Yeah, the cave is too narrow for me now, so the duty in the cave is over today.

Again I checked all of the places where Augi entered and left. Furthermore today I blocked the entrance of Augi’s favorite cave with my body not to let Augi enter there. I know this is a little mean to him, but I think he needs this kind of difficulty once in a while. I am his boss. I have to train him.
Mommy was mad that daddy fed my wet food to Augi.

Augi’s butt was terribly stinky! I sniffed at his butt, then my head pulled back automatically with an astonished face! AWFULLY STINKY! We are buddies, Augi... but... NO thank you for your stink!
Because mommy thoroughly wiped Augi’s body from head to butt yesterday, Augi avoided mommy today. Mommy couldn’t stand his horrible smell today too, so she captured him and wiped his butt. Augi tried to kick against mommy hard.

Mommy sold some of my wet food pouches to daddy as Augi’s. Starting today all expenses involved in Augi, such as food cost and medical fee, will be subtracted from daddy’s money. Still mommy insisted to daddy, "DO NOT feed Juno’s food to Augi."
Daddy got enraged at mommy, "Go away! Don’t repeat it!"
Mommy didn’t budge even an inch, "How could you say that? You shouldn’t have tamed such a dirty stray cat irresponsibly! You must take your least responsibility!"

Tonight daddy tried to bring Augi into his futon bed.
Mommy said, "Oh, no... no...no... Oh, Please... I’m getting sick!"
Even for daddy, it must have been too stinky to sleep together with Augi’s smell. Augi didn’t have a chance to sleep along with daddy tonight.

A few days ago, mommy said many bad things about Augi, so he felt hurt and hasn’t come here for a while. Mommy said that Augi's stink was still acceptable because it could be solved by cleaning him if he could be completely an indoor cat. What she cannot stand is that Augi steals my food and my places.
I told her, “That is not his stealing. I just let him do it. When I don’t like it, I never let him do it. Don’t worry, mommy. I’m fine.”
“I AM NOT fine,” mommy never compromised.

Augi and a Siamese cat fought! During my walk this evening, Augi popped up as always, and the Siamese cat came from somewhere. Then they started scuffling in front of me! I really wanted to join them, but you know I was leashed. I could only be a spectator, so I caterwauled and screamed hard at them. Apparently my screaming was an unusual sound and much louder than the two fighters’. I’m sorry, neighbors.

At night I heard the sound of Augi fighting hard. I was worried and excited and went back and forth in the rooms. At first the sound was from the upper floor of the apartment, then it moved to the parking lot under our floor. Even after it quieted down, I was sitting at the entrance to see how it would be going on. When mommy opened the entrance door to look around outside, immediately Augi ran into the entrance. This is rare. Normally he hesitates to enter the room when mommy opens the door. He must have been very scared of the fighting enemy.

We decided to make Augi stay inside completely starting this evening. His cat litter box was placed next to mine. After we played for a while, Augi said that he wanted to go outside to pee. So I told him that he didn’t have to go outside and showed where to pee and how to do. However, he said, “That’s not my toilet. I wanna go outside!” and held his urine. That’s a problem. It must be a pain to hold urine.

This morning Augi's tummy started shaking. He wanted to go pee badly and he was almost at the end of his endurance.
He repeated, "I wanna pee! I wanna go outside!" Each time he said that, I showed the cat litter box. But he was obstinate, "That's NOT my toilet! I just wanna go outside! Why can’t I?"
Mommy couldn’t stand watching it anymore, so she leashed him and took him outside.
Now I started crying out, "That’s my leash! I want to go outside too!"
But it was not so long before she came back... without Augi.
I asked her, "Where is Augi?"
"After peed in the bush, he entered someone’s property from there. I pulled the leash, but he was more powerful than I thought, then I left go of the leash," mommy replied.
"I think the leash is in your hand right now," I said.
Mommy started to explain,
"Yes. I really wanted to get your leash back and it must be dangerous for him to hang round with the leash. So taking my courage in both hands, I entered the property and managed to catch him, and then removed the leash from him. He went to somewhere after that."
She still continued her words more, "It should be impossible to convert a stray cat to a complete indoor cat after all. I feel this project is getting laughable."
The plan of the complete indoor life of Augi was failed. We will have to wait and see for the time being.

Augi came here only one time today. Mommy is getting friendly to Augi these days. She ponders whether it is really good to make Augi a complete indoor cat because he eats a lot of food and is getting stronger and confident, no longer “Augi the timid cat”.

I think Augi caught a cold. He has a green runny nose. He stayed inside the room much longer than usual. Mommy repeated me, “Juno, don’t get close to Augi!” and kept watching on me so that Augi and I couldn’t stick together.

Augi finally used my cat litter box for the first time! I mean "his" cat litter box. Actually it has been like my extra toilet because he has never used it.
Maybe it must have been impossible to hold his poop. He started digging the cat litter. As soon as I heard it, I rushed into the place of the cat litter and supervised him while he was pooping. He covered his poop, but his way was not perfect, so I covered it with cat litter until his poop was completely buried.
I think the day that Augi becomes a member of my family is almost there.
